A new beginning

Bye bye Denmark, hello Singapore!

Have been back home for almost two months. Everyone is settling down well and we have officially moved back to where we lived before we left for Denmark. Three years ago, the apartment was mostly empty and under utilised since both Ed and I spent a lot of time at work. In contrast, it is fully utilised now because there are 6 of us living under the same roof. My little toddler welcomes the bigger space as he gets more room to walk, play as well as fall. In addition, he also likes the attention his grandparents and uncle shower upon him and is definitely making used of it to its maximum.

Although it is not hard to integrate into the culture in a country where I was born and raised, I have to get used to getting around places with a toddler and a stroller. Before our car comes, I have to make do with taking public transport and boy, it is quite a pain. Buses and MRTs are not baby-friendly and while taxi drivers usually volunteer to take the stroller out of their car boots, they merely sit in their seats when I put it in. As my stomach gets bigger, this simple task is not that simple anymore.

About a week ago, we found out that I am expecting a girl. Initially, it was hard to accept that I was pregnant again when Gerard was still so young. I cried when the home pregnancy test showed "positive" and cried even more when Gerard came forward to "console" me. Now, I am looking forward to meet her. I am going to keep her hair long, buy her pretty dresses, shoes and hairclips. More importantly, I also see this as a new beginning, that I am given another chance to rectify the mistakes that I made with Gerard. So hopefully, my daughter will "turn up" as expected (ie. 30 July) and we shall embark on a new journey together.
